Baobab, also known as the monkey bread tree (Adansonia digitata), is native to the tropical regions of Africa, the Comoros, and Madagascar. The baobab fruit is rich in nutrients such as:

Baobab fruit contains a high level of antioxidant polyphenols—its antioxidant content is said to exceed that of acai or goji berries.
Polyphenols are secondary plant compounds that, among other things, act as colorants and flavor compounds in plants. They have strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties.
